The YWCA is pleased to announce our Summer Pre-Apprenticeship Program! The program programs full and part-time paid job placements, case management services like life skills, counseling, and work readiness training, educational enhancement opportunities, career exploration, resume building, and more!
Who is eligible: Illinois residents who are 16-24 who are in school, getting their GED, or out of school and looking for work.
The program will include 180 hours of paid work experience!
Potential placements for this year include:
- Hauberg Estate – event planning and more
- QC Botanical Center – programming
- STEAM on Wheels – programming
- Brews Energy – barista & front of house
- Epic Signz & Designz – creative & graphic design
- Rustic Barber Shop – front of house
- Tree Service
- YWCA – Lifeguarding
- YWCA – Front Desk
- YWCA – Alan’s House
The classroom portion of this program will take place at the new YWCA QC in Rock Island, June 9-11 and June 16-18 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Work placements will begin after the in-class portion is completed. We will have one classroom day in July and one in August, dates TBD.
