Since time is crucial for working mothers, we’ve made affordable childcare a cornerstone of our services. Regardless of your child’s age, we’ll provide a safe, inclusive, and progressive space filled with compassion while you work to build the life you envision for yourself and your family.

The end of maternity leave and going back to work can be a difficult transition for mother and child alike. And finding a reliable, trusted provider for childcare that will offer a safe and nourishing space is incredibly important to ease this period of separation. YWCA Quad Cities offers affordable childcare options for infants, toddlers, and 2-year-olds that not only provide essential care, but an enriching environment to help foster your child’s early physical, intellectual, and emotional development.

As your child grows, the approach to childcare evolves but the need remains for working parents. YWCA Quad Cities presents a fun, colorful learning experience for preschool students that incorporates early childhood education and social experiences that build strength and resilience in children. Our Pre-K education program is available to every child ages 3-5 in the Quad Cities area.
Ages 3–5: $320/week
When school is in session, the YWCA Quad Cities provides your school-aged child with supervised Before and After School care, nutritional support, stimulating activities, and other learning opportunities in a fun environment. Rely on one or both sessions each day depending on your family’s needs and schedule at work.

Children get holiday and seasonal breaks from school, but most working parents aren’t as lucky. Need a hand? Intercession Care at the YWCA Quad Cities can help fill those difficult gaps in the schedule. Our program aligns with the Rock Island-Milan School District, with additional dates for summer vacation to follow all school calendars. Our school-age students get to engage in fun activities like swimming and field trips.

Tomi and Taryn bring a combined wealth of experience, education, and dedication to the YWCA Early Learning Academy. Together, they have decades of service and leadership in the field of early childhood education. Tomi has been in the early childhood field for 32 years, with 30 of those years devoted to the YWCA. Taryn brings 26 years of experience, including 23 years with the YWCA. Both hold degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Their shared passion lies in ensuring that quality early learning experiences are accessible to all families. Outside of work, Tomi and Taryn enjoy spending time with their families and take pride in being actively involved in YWCA programs and community events.

The center is open Monday – Friday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm.
New years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, The day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday, we are closed that Friday. If it falls on a Sunday, we are closed that Monday.
Yes, families are obligated to pay full tuition rates regardless of periodic absences, or center closing due to holidays or severe weather, building emergencies, or health reasons.
6 weeks – 12 years
The main communication source we use is the Brightwheel app. We also use newsletters, bulletin boards, and in-person communication.
The child care center is locked down and only accessible to staff and families. There are cameras in classrooms, halls, gymnasium, and playground. The rooftop playground is in the middle of the building on the second floor. This makes it inaccessible to anyone from the outside.
The center provides all meals.
All staff are certified in First Aid and CPR.
We accept the State of Illinois tuition assistance.
We do charge a late fee of $1.00 per minute, per child.
