Happy 1-year “Laundri-versary”! to our Empowerment Center.
One year ago on February 15th, 2024, our first appointment was made to use our laundry services. Since then we have served more than 210 individuals doing over 832 loads of laundry! The YWCA Quad Cities Empowerment Center offers a variety of services, including a clothing closet, an immediate needs pantry, a learning center, community laundry, and more. Our Community Laundry Room service allows individuals to do their laundry free of charge.
Thirty-three percent of Quad City residents struggle to pay for their basic needs. The YWCA Quad Cities Empowerment Center focuses on keeping families from going into a crisis situation. If a family is in need, YWCA’s Empowerment Services staff will create a plan to bring that family or individual out of the situation. The Center is designed to keep families and individuals out of poverty for good.
